The ISO9000-1994: Obsolete Version of the ISO9000

ISO 9000-1994 (Obsolete) Guides and Conformance Models

The ISO 9000-1994 is the previous ISO-9000 revision.  This is now obsolete, since it has already been replaced by ISO 9000:2000.

The ISO 9000-1994 is divided into two categories, i.e., conformance models and guides, that define the international standard model for quality assurance in design/development, production, installation, and servicing.  A conformance model is a standard with which an organization must comply for certification to that standard. A guide is a set of recommendations for establishing an effective quality system so that the organization may be certified to one of the three conformance models. Table 1 shows the three conformance models and two guides of the ISO 9000-1994 standard while Table 2 shows its elements.
